I started my career at the BBC film studios in Ealing, a place that has fond memories for anyone who worked there. In any one day you could drink tea in the canteen with the worst and the best in television, a great introduction to this strange but fascinating industry.

It would be all too easy to tell you one of those typical stories, you know the kind…young boy with box brownie dreams of his future…but that's just not me.

Instead, I'd prefer to say that I left the BBC 16 years ago and started my freelance career. Since then I have been lucky enough to work consistently, and yet I still enjoy and look forward to each individual project with the same enthusiasm and energy.

Hopefully, when I now sit in canteen the new assistants will not think they are talking to the worst!

In the end the results will speak for themselves…
